Bhutan - Land of the Thunder Dragon
To say my trip to Bhutan was a pivotal point in my photography journey would be an understatement. It was the first major trip I took with the sole purpose of focusing on creating a body of work as a young photographer (2008). Bhutan, often overwhelming me with its beauty, both landscape and people, encouraged me to photograph everything. I look back at these images almost 20 years later and realize the technical mistakes I made along the way, but also the mistake of not experiencing more with my camera in my bag. I photographed too much (yes that is a thing) instead of simply spending time to enjoy the moments. This body of work, although I am proud of it, is a stark reminder to take the time to live in the moment, even when you are surrounded by inspiring beauty you want to capture as a photographer.
